BTS Team :- How was the feeling of getting your first job?

Sourav :- I was really very happy ,very relaxed and most importantly nomore unemployed…

BTS Team :- What is the key to get success in TCS campus drive?

Sourav :- Right strategy with self confidence is the most important thing.

BTS Team :- What is your opinion regarding filling the APPLICATION FORM or preparing the RESUME and is there any possibility of questions from SUMMER TRAINING?

Sourav :- Yes it is very important to give utmost care while preparing the resume/filling the application form. They will ask you everything mentioned in the Resume. And there is a huge possibility of questions from TRAINING.

BTS Team :- Sourav, a confusing environment has been created due to the new pattern adopted by TCS, can you please share your entire experience of TCS interview with us for our reader?

Sourav :- Yes why not. As this time TCS come up with different strategies for their recruitment process, my entire selection process surprisingly consisting of 5 different rounds. They are as:-

1.      First round was of APTITUDE TEST. This time TCS has totally changed their pattern of aptitude test. There were not even a single question from previous year placement papers of TCS, moreover the difficulty level was much higher. We are allowed to have a calculator with us. From our college there were around 400 students appeared in the test and 156 of them qualified for the next round. I was one of them.

2.      In the next day second round has started that comprising of PERSONAL INTERVIEW AND HR INTERVIEW. There were 2 interviewers in my panel. First I was asked to introduce myself, then they asked me questions from DBMS(basically from normalization, cloud computing), from java (multithreading, about constructor), about SDLC.

             For me, most of the questions were from my SUMMER TRAINING which I have done in ASP.Net, like draw the class diagram, flowchart, business diagram of the project (ONLINE MICRO BLOGGING SITE), about the software used and the basic working of the project.

Third Round was taken on the next day, which was a Group Discussion

Round. Our topic for the GD was “PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS ARE NECESSARY OR NOT”. Successful students asked to come in the next day for the next round.

3.     Next day, firstly we were called for a second time interview. This time the duration of the interview was short then the previous but some tricky questions were asked like:-In which shorting, shorting is not done, implementation of stack and queue in computers, to write a program in 20 lines.

After the interview, we were called for a HR interview round. The interviewer was very friendly. Firstly he asked me to introduce myself, then he asked me about my likes, my family background, recently watched movie and to narrate the story of the movie, places I have visited. Then he asked me why I want to join TCS, about the relocation problem. Finally he offered me to ask any question, then I asked that “IF I get selected in TCS, what should I study for the days before joining TCS to perform well there”. He gave a sweet smile, and replied. Then he asked me to leave. After this interview, I feel very confident as the body language of the interviewer was very positive.

BTS Team :- That really was an exciting interview, Sourav. Any advice to your juniors who intended to get placed in TCS?

Sourav :- Give importance to the Aptitude part as well along with the subjects, make your basics very clear, specially in those subjects which you are going to mentioned in the resume, and give importance to the training.
