Pranabesh :- Thank you so much.

BTS Team :- How was the feeling of getting your first job?

Pranabesh :- First job is very special honestly,I really felt very happy and thrilled to hear that I got placed in TCS.

BTS Team :- What is the key to get success in TCS campus drive?

Pranabesh :- See your going to be nervous as its your life’s first interview but the key is not to show ur nervousness and be calm and confident and have the self belief of performing well in pressure situations.

BTS Team :- What is your opinion regarding filling the APPLICATION FORM or preparing the RESUME and is there any possibility of questions from SUMMER TRAINING?

Pranabesh :- There is a huge possibility of asking questions from TRAINING as in my case in both of my Technical interviews they asked me about my Project which I had prepared during my training.(I did’nt had a good knowledge about my project and I confessed that in front of my interviewer and she smiled !! )

BTS Team :- Pranabesh, a confusing environment has been created due to the new pattern adopted by TCS, can you please share your entire experience of TCS interview with us for our reader?

Pranabesh :- Many of us had to go through 5 rounds that TCS conducted and it was quite a stress for most of us.

“Aptitude Round”

Firstly we had the APTITUDE TEST. This time TCS has totally changed their pattern of aptitude test and the difficulty level was higher than previous years. From our college there were around 400 students who appeared in the test and 156 of them qualified for the next round.For me this initial stage of the recruitment process is the first huddle that one has to clear very carefully as there were negative markings for wrong attempts.Even if your confused with a answer don’t go for a attempt,answer the questions of which you are sure.

” Interview Round “

Next day I had my technical round only with just one member in my interview panel and he asked me some sql queries from DBMS as I had mentioned the subject in my resume.He asked a few questions from my training and about the experience that I had under grown there.The only simple query that he asked was to insert values of few elements and how to add an element in a column.The other queries that he had asked were really tough.

” Group Discussion Round “

Then the next day the third round was the Group Discussion Round. Our topic for the GD was an EFFECT OF MTV ON YOUTH PSYCHE.Only two members from our slot of 8-9 members were selected for the next round.This round was really competitive and challenging.

“Interview Round-2″

Then again next day I had my second technical Interview and to my surprise this time my interviewer was really very friendly and lively. She greeted me with a smile as soon as I entered the room.I was really nervous!! but always kept a smile on my face so that at least my interviewer couldn’t figure it out.

       She asked me about my interests.I had mentioned Software Engineering in My resume so She soon asked me about SDLC and its phases,Feasibility study,Difference between Waterfall Model and Iterative Waterfall Model,Spiral Model and why Spiral model is called Meta model.She was happy with my answers and said my Theoretical Part is quite good so she would ask me next some coding and queries.

    I felt nervous again but still managed to keep a smile on my face!!I was able to answer the code which was followed by a query which I had no idea off. My second technical interview was a bit longer than my previous one and I was really happy with the way it had gone.

Lastly we were called for a HR interview round that day.This round was not tough at all and the interviewer was really Friendly.Myself with two of my friends entered the room,at this point of time we really were a bit more confident compared to the other rounds.He asked us Whats the difference between Computer Science and Information Technology and which one would we prefer.Our joint entrance rank was also asked.He asked me about my family Background and whether I have any problem with reallocation.It ended up well and I just hoped for the best.

BTS Team :- That really was an exciting interview, Pranabesh. Any advice to your juniors who intended to get placed in TCS?

Pranabesh :- Take the Aptitude test very seriously and have your basics clear on the technical subjects.Your communication skill is also very important and be confident of yourself and try to keep a smile on your face it lowers down the pressure.All the best to all my juniors !!
