BTS Team:- Prasanta tell us something about ur self .I mean your brief introduction to BTech Shouter.
Prasanta Karmakar :- Myself Prasanta Karmakar am pursuing B.Tech from Asansol Engineering College (WBUT) and my branch is A.E.I.E(Applied Electronics and instrumentation).Currently i have been placed in TCS .
BTS Team :- Prasanta, BTech Shouter giving you a cordial congratulations for getting success in TCS campus drive.
Prasanta Karmakar :- Thank you again.
BTS Team :- Now, Pransanta some questions from your Campus drive related okay.
Prasanta Karmakar :- Yes, Sure.
BTS Team :- Prasanta, How many rounds they have conducted for yours ?
Prasanta Karmakar :- Just a single round .
BTS Team :- I mean your single round mean that is Aptitude round or interview round ?
Prasanta Karmakar :- Yes there was only one Interview round for me. Actually This year TCS selected top 5 from each branch for their direct Interview and who have 75% through out that is 10th 12th and 8.25 in B.Tech up to 6th semester.And remains eligible students are shortlisted for Aptitude test. And i am among the Top 5 from my stream i was just have direct interview.
BTS Team :- Well Prasanta, You are from A.E.I.E branch am i right ?
Prasanta Karmakar :- Yes, I have told earlier that my branch is A.E.I.E.
BTS Team :- So,You are from A.E.I.E branch ,Then why TCS ? TCS is an IT based outsourcing company .
Prasanta Karmakar:- See, Its a common answer. TCS is one of the largest IT companies in the world.And it is considered among the best.
BTS Team : Prasanta should it will in the world or India?
Prasanta Karmakar:- If u consider the vastness.It is a prolific company.And world renowned and of course it is the best in India and regarding Instrumentation i am looking for a good GATE score this february. So TCS being the first company, i have always welcomed it .
BTS Team:- okay well Prasanta is TCS your first and last target from the beginning ?
Prasanta Karmakar:- As i said, TCS being the first company, i have always welcomed it and i am waiting for the GATE 2013 .
BTS Team:- Prasanta can you share with us how was your interview ? I mean hows their HR and Technical questions?
Prasanta Karmakar :- I had a single round of interview the panel consisted of 3 interviewer my interviwew session lasted for 15-20 minutes they began with HR.
- They asked me. To tell about myself which is not mentioned in the CV.
- Next they asked me about my home town Asansol.
- Since i had mentioned about my hobby as Painting, they asked me how may years did i learn painting?
- What is my highest degree in painting?
- Then they inquired whether anyone from my family is in IT industry.
Finally the HR ended with mentioning about the relocation.
BTS Team:- Well , Prasanta have they asked any technical questions?
Prasanta Karmakar;- Yes,They began with the questions:-
- Tell the definition of Sensor?
- Then they asked the Difference Between sensors and transducers?
- I was asked to describe briefly FET and BJT?
- Then they asked about changer circuit in decorative lighting?
- Then a bit about rectification?
- About IC 555 TIMER CIRCUIT.
- Finally they asked me whether i am good in coding.
They said me to go by then.
BTS Team :- Is there any question from Coding ?
Prasanta Karmakar;- No.
BTS Team ;- Well Prasanta How much you feel confident after your TCS Interview?
Prasanta Karmakar:- See, I had answered 90% of questions and was bit confident initially.But what happened was that, most of my friends were called more than once,so i was confused.And it hampered my confidence :( . Finally i was relieved once i got the results.
BTS Team :- How was the feeling when your results was announced and your name among the selected students ?
Prasanta Karmakar :- It was an awesome moment. My Parents were happier than me.Its the first job.So there was great excitement.
BTS Team:- Now, Prasanta some questions from your preparation for TCS. So, Hows your study planning before TCS campus Drive ?
Prasanta Karmakar:- Yes of course see, I got the news from my friends colleges and universities that thing not gonna be cakewalk this year,so I started planning and preparing accordingly two weeks earlier I went through Data structure and C thoroughly,then I revised my branch subjects last 3 days.
BTS Team :- Well prasanta now we are asking something from your personal life okay. Who is your inspirational Person?
Prasanta Karmakar :- well my parents have been my biggest inspiration.
BTS Team:- If you will get good score in Gate then you will continue your study or will go for TCS ?
Prasanta Karmakar :- If I get good score in gate,would try to find the best course for the masters.If i fail doing So, TCS is the next best option.
BTS Team :- Okay,Prasanta would you give any message to your non IT departmental friends and juniors to crack TCS campus interview drive ?
Prasanta Karmakar:-
Its the Basics which matters.Actually Interview can never be limited to any syllabus.An interviewer can ask form anywhere.So sticking to the basics is the best way to prepare.
