Hi, friends I am Rohit Mindia from Asansol engineering college.
Well friends Campus Interview one of the most important phase of a College Fresher, like my fellow classmates I too was excited when I came to know about TCS coming to conduct campus drive for our college. Well being excited at one side there were also a fear on the other hand that will I be able to make into it. I was hoping to make it into the direct pi round which I missed by a whisker of “ 0.05 “ . I was confident enough that if I get a chance to sit for the interview I will surely make it through!!!!!
With news form round the other colleges that TCS aptitude pattern have changed and they have included the Cat level question and the fact that I am not that good in solving those aptitude question made me more nervous…
After giving the aptitude test I was not that really confident of making it through as I attempted only 15 of the question of the entire set and my fellow mates attempted at least around 18 to 20. At the time of results as worst expected My name was not called off .
After TCS I was thinking that I have missed an golden opportunity. With recession out on the market I was wondering that Is this the end for me or it is just that something much better waiting for me . Two days after the TCS’s aptitude we received a notification from our college that a company called “MindTree” will be coming to conduct campus recruitment. I honestly didn’t heard the name of the company before this notice. I was thinking what type of company it is should I sit for it for wait for a good company to come..
After doing some research I found out the company is good and is ranked 18th and I made my mind to sit in its campus drive.
After the failure of TCS I was thinking of the mistakes that I commited and made sure not to repeat them again.
Day of MINDTREE CAMPUS DRIVE:
At the day of CAMPUS DRIVE, there was first a power point presentation regarding the functionalities of the companies ,salaries etc..
Then we had to give an APTITUDE TEST . The APTITUDE TEST comprises of four sections:
- English(normal grammar,antonyms,synonyms etc…)
- Quantitative aptitude.
- Technical questions( basics of OOP’s ,functions)
- Logical Reasoning
There was 25 questions in first 3 sections and 24 questions in the last section. The duration of the test was 2 hours
At the time of results there was only a glitch in the servers and only 12 names were selected they said that they will declare the rest results very shortly.
During the second phase of results My name was called.
After this I was pretty confident of cracking the interview as my technical knowledge is good.
The interview was pretty informal in nature i.e The interviewer was friendly with me and first asked me to introduce myself .
I confidently introduced myself .
Then he asked me about my hobby-I said blogging
He asked what you actually blog: I said I share new technologies through my blog.
Then he asked me about Ethical hacking as I have mentioned it in my cv that I have attend a workshop on it I explained it to him.
Then he asked me about cloud computing .
He asked me about my summer project what is the main aspect of the project how did you created it?
Then he asked me to rate myself on 1 to 10 how good data structure I know I replied 8.
Then he asked me 2 question on string :-
- If There are two or more spaces between your first name and middle name reduce the space to one.
- Then there was a question to find out the position,number of occurrence of a given string in the main string?
Meanwhile I was solving the first question he came and asked me weather I was comfortable working in Chennai or Bangalore which I replied I am comfortable working in any environment.Then I solved the first question by comparing character with white space and so on.
- He told to try to use a replace function(); same thing in question 2 ;
- I did not got actually what he actually meant by the replace function() as there is no inbuilt replace function.
- Then there were basic question from Oracle like what is primary key , foreign key.
Then he said that interview was over and I may leave .
I politely asked him sir can u please highlight on that replace function to which he replied he has also does not have any idea regarding it.
At the time of results they said they have selected only 22 candidates I was happy to be one of them.
At Last I would tell my friends not to loose hope I f they are not placed life has got something Better awaiting for U!!!!
